NAO GARDUNO YOU

december 11 2025

wow another late update. so much for that monthly update schedule...

i've had one hell of a semester. it started slow but ramped up right in the middle with a bunch of filler assignments. i've gotten through some interesting projects but i'm writing this entry to blow off some steam before i lock the fuck in for my last two finals. i'm disabled so i take 12 credits instead of 15 but it's still a mountain of work... i've finished two of four classes. 20th century craft and design was a really fantastic class with a ton of reading and writing (at least for a studio art student) but i loved it. it's one of those classes that makes me honestly think about switching from studio to history. this photo is of one of the projects i've done for my electronics class, which to be honest is killing me. i'm totally out of my depth here.

a hand in a dark room holding up a copper wire art project in the shape of Jupiter Icy Moons Explorer space probe. it has a battery in the centre of it and two long prongs with red LEDs, and two wire circles with a red LED in it to make a satellite dish.

in november, it was dia de los muertos, which is always tough for me. in the past 3.5 years, i've lost 5 family members and there could be another 1 or 2 in the extended family in the next couple years. most specifically, i lost my father to suicide and have been making works about it ever since. you can see funeral procession (miss you forever) which is these first four drawings of roads i made from 2024, which i've been working on slowly expanding into a real catalogue of works which could be displayed together in an exhibition. there is now 1 painting and 2 more in the works with a piece of interactive fiction in progress and another planned 3 paintings or drawings. funeral procession takes up the majority of my time outside of making my silly drawings.

september 29 2025

this is a late update. i wrote the entry somewhere in the middle of september though so i'll list it then anyways.

this month has been really busy. i tried to update the css on my site before classes started in full but guess what? the university i go to tried to take away 24/7 hour studio access. i don't know about anyone else, but i do like 60%-90% of my work at night. every single art piece i've made at NSCAD has been worked on past the hour of 1am. no way around it. so the student union organized a sit-in on campus, and i was awake two nights in a row on the first week of classes until admin sent an email confirming we got 24/7 hour access back.

the sun filtering through a trees in the day.

other than that, classes are going well. i had to drop intro weaving which was a little sad but i think the amount of time i was going to be spending at the studio for it would have killed me anyways. i'm working on some very basic electronic skills for my intro physical computing class. hopefully i can make something worth showing here.

the only other thing i'm doing is working on my ocs. i'm working on some lame as hell animatics and eventually maybe put those somewhere on the internet. i'm back on tiktok which is deeply frustrating to everyone around me, myself included- but it's so popular and has such a large user base (and being internet famous could get me a dollar or two, or so i'm told.) that's all. hopefully my design for the net class teaches me how to make my site less shabby...

wow! got my professional site it's own domain, that was a little scary. i'm now a neocities supporter! i'm trying to put my money where my mouth is and support the things i really care about, like politics and free internet. i've started printing out sheets to leave at my university and all over the city about some canadian politics and i'm intending to start like. an anonymous paper once or twice a month about some internet free speach issue? i'm not sure i want to post them here since they are meant to be anonymous but i would really like that...

a darkly lit painting studio, large windows at the back with the curtains drawn. there are easels and paint boxes strawn across the room in the dark.

this is a photo of the painting studio i use at my university (its night). i'm so unemployed this summer that i had to take another summer class so that i could get student loans so i could pay rent. it's really dire out here but i'm enjoying my classes a lot. i'll admit im using this site update to procrastinate on doing my final projects though. i'm taking asian art history and landscape abstraction. if i feel good, i'll maybe post my writing on this site for fun.

more procrastination, i've been working on making references and moodboards and art of my characters. you can find them here. i'll slowly upload all the work i've done for them over the next month, hopefully in between school work and before the next semester begins and i get swamped.

finally got my site fixed up and looking pretty alright. my html and css is all mine now and even though its really shoddy i still am cheesed.

a messy dining table covering with paint brushes, sand paper, paint tubes, gesso and other materials. the photo is humorous with the photography holding a bottle of alcohol like a video game character holding a sword.

im attempting to paint this summer in my house but i think im better off just painting at the studio ha.
